2018 LA County Fair Now Open!

Today the LA County Fair opens its doors at the Fairplex in Pomona! It is open from Today (August 31) to Sunday September 23.

For the first time in the Fair’s history, it has a theme – “Get Your Kicks…At The LA County Fair.” The theme honors historic Route 66, a highway spanning from Chicago to Santa Monica, and was a major road used for travel before the advent of the US Highway Interstate System. Attractions at the Fair have retro designs to match the theme.

Attractions include “Auto Alley,” in which visitors can take a look at rare classic cars up close and personal. Many rides are located at the fair, including a Ferris Wheel, Disk’o, Roller Coasters and more.

Tickets are now available on the LA County Fair Website. As part of the theme, tickets are priced at $6.60 on Sundays. All food vendors around the fair will have a special Route 66 theme food item for just 6.60.

The Los Angeles County Fair is one of the largest fairs in the nation, with more than 1.4 million people entering its gates every year (as of 2012). The first Fair was held in 1922 at a cost of $63,000 ($945,000 in 2018 dollars). It is located at Fairplex in Pomona, spread out over 543 acres of land.
