Man Identified in Fatal Compton Shooting on North Long Beach Boulevard

The Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner has identified Arnold Rubio, 38, as the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred in Compton on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the shooting took place around 1:50 p.m. on Sunday in the 1700 block of North Long Beach Boulevard, near East Tucker Street. Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics pronounced Rubio dead at the scene.

The incident occurred in broad daylight on a busy commercial corridor in Compton, raising concerns about public safety among local residents and business owners in the area. North Long Beach Boulevard is home to numerous shops and restaurants frequently visited by community members.

As of Tuesday, authorities have not released information about a suspect or possible motive for the shooting. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau is actively investigating the case.
