The Los Angeles Rams, who play their home games at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium, will debut a new alternate uniform this season as part of the NFL’s newly announced “Rivalries” program with Nike.

In an announcement that was somewhat overshadowed by the 2025 NFL Draft activities, the league revealed that eight teams, including all four from the NFC West division, will receive unique alternate uniforms designed with their local communities in mind.

The new uniforms will be worn during a single home game against a division rival, with designs “rooted extensively in local community insights” according to the NFL’s announcement. Each design will draw inspiration from the history of each market and unique aspects of the community that the team represents.

This approach appears similar to the NBA’s City Edition uniforms and MLB’s City Connect jerseys, creating special designs that celebrate the connection between teams and their home communities. For the Rams, this could potentially incorporate elements reflecting their connection to Inglewood and the greater Los Angeles area.

These special uniforms will remain in each team’s rotation for the next three years, complementing their existing uniform options. The designs will be unveiled before the first “Rivalries” game, with specific dates to be announced after the NFL releases its regular-season schedule on May 14.

The initiative will expand over the next three seasons, with eight additional teams receiving “Rivalries” uniforms each year until all 32 NFL teams are participating by 2028.

This announcement comes as welcome news to many Rams fans who have been requesting new uniform designs since the team’s last major redesign in 2020, when they updated their look to coincide with their move to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.

For Inglewood businesses, particularly those near SoFi Stadium, the new merchandise could potentially drive additional foot traffic and sales around the designated rivalry game.
