Ely Keenberg, who gained his scrap metal knowledge during his nearly 20 years as a manager of a large scrap yard, established Ekco Metals in 1966. The company began on a more than 25,000 square foot facility and now comprises nearly four acres of land, containing some of the latest and most efficient heavy processing equipment. Ekco handles approximately 3,000 tons of nonferrous and nearly 2,000 tons of ferrous material monthly. The company also has a broker division that handles large orders from many long-term overseas buyers. The company, with a strong processing base, experienced staff, known market exposure and customized personal service, will continue to be a major leader in fulfilling scrap metal needs in domestic and Far East markets. Ekco Metals is located in Los Angeles.
