In an effort to increase sports textile
recycling and lessen the amount of the pollution produced, Club America has
partnered with nonprofit Green Education Foundation and Fundación
Televisa to introduce Neighborhood Donation Recycling Station (NDRS) at
SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Soccer lovers and sports goers can visit
the Club America NDRS on August 3rd and help out the environment by
recycling old athletic shoes thanks to Club America’s new environmental initiative
“Tenis Con Alas,” or “Sneakers with Wings”! For more information on how you can join
Club America in reducing sports waste at SoFi Stadium, continue to read on!
NDRS, or neighborhood donation recycling stations, are a great way to reduce waste
and recycle materials that would otherwise end up in landfills. At the SoFi Stadium,
the Club America NDRS will be placed in a strategic location, making it easy for
sports goers and attendees to donate the shoes they no longer need. As opposed to
just throwing your old sports shoes away, you can “give them wings” by recycling
them and give them a second life!
By diverting usable items from landfills, Club America is helping to conserve
materials and prevent pollution. Furthermore, recycling helps to reduce greenhouse gas
emissions, as it takes less energy to recycle materials than it does to produce new
materials. So, by donating your old sneakers to Club America NDRS, you are not only
helping to reduce waste, but you are also helping to protect the environment. Green
Education Foundation’s closed-loop recycling system ensures nothing goes to waste and that all of the donated shoes are guaranteed
to get a second life! To learn more about NDRS, please visit recyclingedu.org.

Each year, Green Education Foundation diverts over 50 million pounds of materials
from landfills with the goal of eventually reaching 100 million pounds per year! They
accomplish this with help from cities and organizations, which help place NDRS on
their properties in order to provide community members a place to recycle.
Under Fundación Televisa’s 20 years anniversary and Club America’s environmental
commitment, these initiatives will make a difference in helping to create a more
sustainable future for all. Over the years, the more victorious soccer team in Mexico
and North America has embraced several actions in order to promote the
environment’s betterment. Moreover, the NDRS not only represents a big
opportunity to recycle but also to be closer to the fan base of Las Águilas in the
United States, sharing a great message for the generations to come.
Green Education Foundation is proud to be taking on these impactful initiatives with
Club America and Fundación Televisa! By taking on these initiatives, Club America is
making a positive difference for the environment and setting an example for other
sports organizations to follow. Come visit Club America’s NDRS at SoFi Stadium on
August 3rd! Our container will be located on East VIP, outside of Entry 10.
Join us, donate, and recycle!
