Comet K2 is visible in the dark skies on Wednesday, July 13, as it makes a close approach to earth. It is a large comet that is multiple miles wide, and will come as close as 170 million miles to Earth. It is a deep space traveler, coming in from billions of miles away in the Oort Cloud, the outer stretches of our solar system.
