Willie E. Agee known as Mr. Inglewood, a 54 year resident of Inglewood passed away today at 90 years old. He was a proud resident of the City known for saying at City Council meetings, “I live in the beautiful City of Inglewood.”
Mr. Agee was a Korean War combat veteran. He came to Inglewood in the late ’50s and has served the City and three mayors as a commissioner for 26 years on the Parks and Recreation Commission with the last 13 years as the Chairman. Some of the projects he was instrumental in getting in the parks are, the skateboard park in the larger parks, relocation of the transportation mural, and the renovation and reopening of the playhouse at Ed Vincent Park. Willie Agee was not afraid to give advice and support to projects that would make Inglewood a better place to live for residents, youth and businesses. He was a big supporter of the Inglewood Times and through his counsel help to start the Inglewood Youth Foundation.
Willie Agee was loved and missed by many. Willie caught COVID 19 while undergoing treatment. He left this world at 7:00 PM on April 27th, 2020. His guidance, love, and memory will last for Eternity.
