The Los Angeles Dodgers return home to Dodger Stadium Monday night for Game 3 of the 2025 World Series in a best-of-seven series tied 1-1 with the Toronto Blue Jays, bringing championship baseball back to Southern California as fans across Inglewood, Compton, and the greater Los Angeles area prepare for what promises to be an electric atmosphere.

The series shifts to Los Angeles with momentum clearly on the Dodgers’ side after Japanese ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto delivered a masterful complete-game performance in Game 2, evening the series with a 5-1 victory Saturday night in Toronto.

“Yamamoto was absolutely dominant,” said longtime Inglewood resident and Dodgers season ticket holder Marcus Jenkins. “That’s the kind of pitching that wins championships. Now we get to watch them at home—the energy is going to be incredible.”

Yamamoto’s nine-inning gem marked the first complete game in an MLB postseason in 11 days, as he scattered four hits while allowing just one earned run with no walks and eight strikeouts on 105 pitches. The 27-year-old right-hander silenced critics who questioned his postseason readiness after the Dodgers’ Game 1 loss.

The Dodgers’ offense provided crucial support, with catcher Will Smith launching a 404-foot home run and driving in two runs, while veteran Max Muncy added another homer. The offensive explosion came after a disappointing 6-3 loss in Game 1, when the Blue Jays jumped on Dodgers starter Blake Snell and the bullpen.

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at 8 p.m. ET at Dodger Stadium, with Tyler Glasnow taking the mound for Los Angeles against Toronto’s veteran ace Max Scherzer. The matchup pits Glasnow’s power arsenal against Scherzer’s experience and guile in what many expect to be a tightly contested pitchers’ duel.

For Inglewood and surrounding communities, the World Series has brought a surge of excitement and economic activity. Sports bars throughout the area are expecting packed houses, with many establishments offering watch party specials and extended hours. The Forum and other entertainment venues near SoFi Stadium have reported increased foot traffic as baseball fans flood the region.

“This is what October baseball in LA is all about,” said Tanya Rodriguez, owner of The Dugout sports bar in Compton. “Our community lives and dies with the Dodgers. We’ve already had to add extra staff for tonight’s game—it’s going to be wall-to-wall people.”

The Dodgers are attempting to become the first team to win back-to-back World Series championships since the New York Yankees accomplished the feat from 1998 to 2000. The franchise last won the championship in 2024, defeating the New York Yankees in six games.

Transportation officials are urging fans to use public transit, with the Metro L Line (Gold Line) providing direct service to Dodger Stadium. Additional shuttle services are being added from Union Station to accommodate the anticipated crowds. Parking lots are expected to reach capacity well before first pitch.

“The Dodgers have a real chance to take control of this series tonight,” said UCLA sports psychologist Dr. James Martinez. “Home-field advantage is huge in the World Series, and with the momentum from Yamamoto’s performance, a Game 3 win would put significant pressure on Toronto.”

The series winner will be crowned after up to seven games, with Games 3, 4, and 5 (if necessary) scheduled for Dodger Stadium. If the series extends beyond five games, it would return to Toronto for Games 6 and 7.

Weather conditions for Monday night’s game are expected to be ideal, with clear skies and temperatures in the mid-60s—perfect baseball weather for what could be one of the season’s most memorable games. First pitch is set for 5:09 p.m. PT, with coverage beginning at 4:30 p.m. on FOX.

For fans unable to attend in person, watch parties are planned at venues throughout Inglewood and Compton, with many community centers and churches organizing family-friendly viewing events. The Inglewood Public Library announced it would remain open late to show the game in its community room.
