Tony P’s Dockside Grill, a longtime favorite seafood spot and sports bar located on the Marina del Rey harbor, will close its doors permanently at the end of June after nearly three decades in business.

Owners Dan Ringwood and Tony Palermo announced their retirement and the restaurant’s closure in a message posted on the establishment’s website, marking the end of an era for this popular dining destination that has attracted visitors from across Los Angeles County, including many from Inglewood and South LA.

“It has been a great run, full of special moments and even more special people. We are proud of what we have accomplished in Marina del Rey since 1997, and we will always be thankful for the incredible community that has supported us every step along the way,” the owners stated in their announcement.

The waterside restaurant at 4445 Admiralty Way opened on Super Bowl Sunday in 1997 and quickly became known for its harbor views and lively sports bar called the Tavern, featuring nearly 30 TVs that made it a destination for sports fans throughout the region. Many Inglewood residents have frequented the establishment over the years, particularly before or after visiting nearby beaches.

Tony P’s menu earned a reputation for its variety of seafood dishes, pastas, pizzas, sandwiches, and popular items like their French Onion Soup and brunch pancakes. The restaurant’s Mai Tais and Bloody Marys were also customer favorites.

According to the restaurant’s website, Ringwood and Palermo opened their first establishment, Teasers, on the Promenade in Santa Monica in 1985, which operated until 2001. The business partners purchased the former Charlie Brown’s restaurant in Marina del Rey in 1996 and transformed it into Tony P’s.

“We hope you will stop by and share our last hurrah with us. Our customers and our employees have been like family to us, and I hope these final weeks are a celebration of all we have been through together,” the owners added in their statement.

For Inglewood and South LA residents looking to enjoy this longtime local establishment before it closes, Tony P’s will continue operating through the end of June.
