Spring Events Bloom in Inglewood: Earth Day Celebrations, Concerts and Family Activities
Inglewood residents can look forward to a variety of family-friendly events in the coming weeks, from Earth Day celebrations to musical performances and educational opportunities. The city’s calendar is filled with activities that showcase Inglewood’s community spirit and cultural vibrancy.
On Saturday, April 19, the Crenshaw-Imperial Branch Library will host an Earth Day celebration starting at 1:00 PM. Located at 11141 Crenshaw Boulevard in Inglewood, the event will feature storytelling that honors nature’s cycles, followed by craft activities. Children will enjoy a special appearance by Charm and Happy’s bunny mascot and face painting. The free event aims to educate young residents about environmental stewardship in an engaging way.
Easter Sunday (April 20) brings a special musical celebration to The Miracle Theatre at 226 S. Market Street in Inglewood. “Corey Henry Presents Church” invites the community to enjoy an evening of music and fellowship. Doors open at 6:30 PM with the show starting at 7:30 PM. Tickets are available online through the Miracle Theater website.
“These cultural events strengthen our community bonds while providing entertainment options right here in Inglewood,” said a representative from the Inglewood Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department. “We’re especially proud of the diverse programming that appeals to residents of all ages.”
The environmental theme continues with the City of Inglewood’s Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 26, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Edward Vincent Jr. Park. Community members are invited to participate in tree planting and park beautification efforts as part of the city’s environmental initiatives.
Looking ahead to May, Roger’s Park will host Inglewood’s first-ever “Touch A Truck” event on Saturday, May 3, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Located at 300 W. Beach Avenue, this family-friendly outdoor experience gives children the opportunity to explore fire trucks, police cars, ambulances, and other specialized vehicles that serve the community. Mother’s Day brings a major musical event to the Kia Forum as “The Queens: 4 Legends, 1 Stage” features iconic performers Patti Labelle, Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, and Stephanie Mills. The Sunday, May 11 concert begins at 7:00 PM, with ticket prices ranging from $98 to $382, available through Ticketmaster.
For those interested in developing digital skills, free virtual workshops on artificial intelligence will be held every Monday in April (including April 21 and 28) at 6:00 PM via Zoom. The “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence with The AIChic” sessions are designed for beginners and accessible to all Inglewood residents with internet access.
