Trump Warns Tehran to Evacuate as Middle East Tensions Escalate
President Donald Trump urged “everyone” in Tehran to “immediately evacuate” late Monday night, escalating tensions in the Middle East crisis while a 13-year-old tweet predicting U.S.-Iran conflict resurfaces on social media.
Trump posted on Truth Social: “Iran should have signed the ‘deal’ I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”
The dramatic warning comes as internet users discovered Trump’s 2011 Twitter post claiming “In order to get elected @BarackObama will start a war with Iran,” prompting speculation about whether the former president had inadvertently predicted his own future actions.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Trump’s early departure from the G7 summit in Canada, stating it was “because of what’s going on in the Middle East.” The president’s exit came as world leaders gathered to discuss the escalating Iran-Israel conflict.
Trump’s evacuation warning followed similar calls from Israeli officials earlier Monday, targeting areas housing approximately 330,000 people including major sites like state TV headquarters, police command centers, and multiple hospitals. Iranian officials dismissed these evacuation orders as “psychological warfare,” though fear has gripped Tehran’s 9.5 million residents.
When asked about potential U.S. military involvement during the G7 summit, Trump remained evasive. “I don’t want to talk about that,” he told reporters. “We’re not involved in it. It’s possible we could get involved. But we are not at this moment involved.”
The president reportedly refused to sign a joint G7 statement urging restraint between Iran and Israel, further isolating the U.S. position from other world leaders seeking diplomatic solutions.
NBC News and Fox News reported that Trump has ordered the National Security Council to be ready in the Situation Room upon his return to Washington, DC, signaling potential escalation in U.S. involvement in the Middle East crisis.
The resurfacing of Trump’s 2011 tweet has sparked widespread commentary on social media, with users questioning the irony of his past prediction and current actions regarding Iran.
