Vic Mensa Brings Humanitarian “Liberación Collective” Tour to Inglewood’s Miracle Theater April 26
Chicago-based rapper and activist Vic Mensa will bring the Liberación Collective tour to Inglewood’s Miracle Theater on April 26, offering local residents a unique opportunity to engage with global humanitarian issues through art and community building.
The event, titled “Liberación Collective: The Congo and Lebanon,” will run from 2 PM to 10 PM and aims to educate attendees while drawing parallels between different global struggles, helping to identify common experiences among marginalized communities in Los Angeles and worldwide.
“This is more than just a performance—it’s about creating connections between communities facing similar challenges across the globe,” said an event organizer. “Inglewood’s diverse population makes it an ideal location for this kind of cultural exchange and solidarity building.”
Mensa, who describes himself as an “artivist” (artist and activist), has built a platform focused on Pan-Africanism, mental health awareness, and sobriety. Through the Liberación Collective, he seeks to inspire a new generation’s investment in and respect for the African continent.
The day-long program will feature music performances, poetry readings, and a screening of the Oscar-nominated documentary “A Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat.” Attendees can also participate in educational workshops and browse a flea market supporting small businesses.
Funds raised at the Inglewood event will support two humanitarian causes. Contributions to Friends of Congo will help house displaced women and children, secure food and water, build a communal kitchen, and provide “return packets” (including phones, seeds, cash, and transportation) for women returning to their villages after displacement.
The event will also raise funds for Egna Legna in Lebanon, an organization working with African women trapped in the exploitative Kafala labor system. These proceeds will provide food, women’s hygiene products, diapers, rent assistance, and medical care.
Sponsored by Travel With Purpose and Artivists Entertainment, the event aligns with the latter’s mission to educate and mobilize communities through artistic expression.
For Inglewood residents, the event offers an opportunity to engage with global issues through a local lens while supporting humanitarian efforts abroad. The Miracle Theater’s hosting of this event continues its emergence as a cultural hub for the community.
Tickets and additional information are available through the Miracle Theater website or Liberación Collective’s social media channels.
