Grammy-Winner Al Green and Rising Stars The War and Treaty Perform Saturday Night in Inglewood
Soul music royalty arrives in Inglewood on Saturday, October 4 when eleven-time Grammy Award winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Al Green takes the YouTube Theater stage at 8:00 p.m., joined by acclaimed husband-and-wife duo The War and Treaty.
The concert, titled “Let’s Stay Together, LA,” promises to deliver timeless soul, gospel, and R&B performed by one of music’s most influential artists alongside one of the genre’s most exciting rising acts.
Born April 13, 1946, Al Green defined early 1970s soul music with hits that remain cultural touchstones. His signature song “Let’s Stay Together” reached number one on both the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B charts in 1972. Other classics include “Tired of Being Alone” (1971), “I’m Still in Love with You” (1972), and “Love and Happiness” (1973).
Green’s spiritual journey led him to become an ordained pastor in the mid-1970s. He established the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Memphis where he continues to minister today as Reverend Al Green.
Special guests The War and Treaty—husband-and-wife duo Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter—represent the evolution of soul and gospel traditions. Since forming in 2014, they’ve built a devoted following with their eclectic fusion of Southern soul, gospel, country, and rock-and-roll. They received two nominations for the 66th Annual Grammy Awards including Best New Artist.
Tickets remain available through Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, and Live Nation, with prices starting at $45.
