Inglewood District Newsletter

Hello Neighbors,
I hope this message finds you and your family well, healthy, and safe. Since my last message there have been new updates, as different levels of government and with private organizations have been working together to lessen the impacts of our Governor's Safer at Home Order. I would like to share this information with you to make sure you have access to those resources you may be eligible for, during these unprecedented times.
The City of Inglewood's Senior Meals Program continues to provide frozen and boxed meals to seniors in our area, and through additional programming is now serving additional seniors. To register for the program or like more information please contact the Senior Center at (310) 412-5338. Please take note- the Inglewood Senior Meals Program is our Elderly Nutrition Program (ENP).
Recently, Governor Newsom announced an initiative allowing local businesses to prepare and deliver meals to seniors. As it is a new initiative, the details are still being disseminated and will share details once we have them. However, if you are a business interested in the program, you can monitor information by clicking this link.
Through SoCal Edison's CARE program you may be eligible for a modified bill, should you face unemployment or are unable to pay your SoCal Edison bill. Moreover, SoCal Gas has suspended service disconnections until further notice, and no customer will have their natural gas turned off due to non-payment. Please visit this link to apply or for additional information.
SoCalGas has been made aware that scammers are taking advantage of the COVID-19 outbreak; sending phishing emails, texts, and social media posts. You can visit this link to find background information on customer billing and its service policy. Also, keep in mind to be safe when you are called and asked to share your personal information.
Many of you have contacted my office about parking. Please be assured that we remain committed to providing uninterrupted services, such as street sweeping, to you, while providing alternative parking locations. To support these services and for your convenience, all parking lots on Arbor Vitae remain open for parking Monday through Friday, from 7am-3pm. Additionally, the Library parking lot is available during the same hours for your use. If you have parking related questions, please feel free to follow the "Quick Links."
Thank you, and please let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Eloy Morales, Jr.
Councilman, District 3
