“Out of Our Heads”: Neurodiverse Theater Show to Premiere Near Inglewood
The Miracle Project LIVE, an award-winning inclusive theater organization, will premiere “Out of Our Heads,” an original sketch comedy show created and performed by a neurodiverse ensemble of young adults on May 9 and 10 at The Pico Theater, located just a short drive from Inglewood.
Developed through improvisation, collaboration, and lived experience, the show celebrates the unique perspectives of neurodivergent individuals through a blend of comedy sketches, songs, and spontaneous moments that showcase both humor and heart.
“Out of Our Heads shines a light on the funny, surprising, and sometimes chaotic thoughts that swirl through our minds – and transforms them into art,” explains the production team. “In a world that often feels divided, the show offers a joyful reminder that the things we keep in our heads – our worries, our joys, our quirks – are often the very things that connect us.”
Now celebrating over 20 years of groundbreaking inclusive programming, The Miracle Project continues its mission of supporting neurodivergent, disabled, and non-disabled individuals in developing communication, self-esteem, and life skills through the arts.
For families from Inglewood, Compton, and South Los Angeles communities, the show provides an opportunity to experience inclusive performing arts that expand “the definition of who gets to be seen, heard, and celebrated onstage.”
The production team has emphasized accessibility, with ASL interpretation available for the performance at 7:30 PM on Friday, May 9. The Pico Theater is ADA accessible with ample accessible seating, and neurodivergent audience members are warmly welcomed in what organizers describe as “a supportive, inclusive environment for all guests.”
